Pakistan's
population has surged to 207.77 million, having experienced a 57 per cent
increase since the last census in 1998 and reveals an acceleration in the
population growth rate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Federally
Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), even as growth in Punjab and Sindh has slowed
compared to previous results.
The
results show that 2m people reside in Islamabad, 5m in Fata, 12.3m in
Balochistan, 30.5m in KP, 47.9m in Sindh, while Punjab — the largest province
in terms of population — houses 110 million people.
Close
to 36.4pc of Pakistanis live in urban areas. Over 52pc of Sindh's residents
live in urban areas. Balochistan is the least urbanised of Pakistan's
provinces.
The
provisional results exclude data from Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and
Kashmir, which is likely to be included in the final report.
In
Pakistan, Punjab is not the only largest Punjabi population area, the second
largest population of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, second largest population of Pushtoon
area of Baluchistan, second largest population of Baloch area of Baluchistan,
second largest population of rural areas of Sindh and second largest population
of urban areas of Sindh is also Punjabi.
Therefore,
Pakistan is a Punjabi state due to 60% Punjabi population of Pakistan and
remaining 40 percent population of Pakistan is; Sammat, Hindko, Brohi,
Kashmiri, Gilgiti-Baltistani, Chitrali, Rajasthani, Gujrati, Pathan, Baloch,
Indian Refugees (Muhajir) and others.
Due
to majority population of Pakistan, Punjabis have total control on military
establishment, civil bureaucracy, foreign affairs, agricultural sector,
industrial sector, trade sector, political organizations, media organizations,
education institutions, skilled professions.
After Pukhtoon, the second largest Punjabi population of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after Pushtoon, the second largest Punjabi population of Pushtoon area of Baluchistan, after Baloch, the second largest Punjabi population of Baloch area of Baluchistan, after Sindhi, the second largest Punjabi population of rural areas of Sindh and after Muhajir, the second largest Punjabi population of urban areas of Sindh is more Punjabi nationalist as compare to the Punjabi's living in Punjab.
