Tragedy with Punjabi Settlers in Rural Sindh and Karachi.

In 1901 Nara Canal and in 1932 Sukkur Barrage lands were allotted to Punjabi settlers in Rural Sindh aiming to increase the cultivating area of Rural Sindh. Punjabi’s did the task with manual labor, as machinery was not available at that time.

With the passage of time; those Punjabis were assimilated in Rural Sindh by adopting Sindhi language, culture, and traditions, but in 1970’s, at the time of 1st PPP government under the leadership of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Sindhi’s started to force the Punjabi settlers with fascistic and terrorist activities to leave the Rural Sindh by handing over the cultivated lands to Sindhi’s.

The majority of Punjabi settler landholder and well-established Punjabi settlers considered it feasible to migrate to HyderabadKarachi, and Abroad or Back to Punjab.

Remaining Punjabi settlers in Rural Sindh are stuck people due to many reasons, they were not able to migrate, anyhow, they are living in Rural Sindh with low profile social and business lifestyle with fear and harassment.

At the creation of Pakistan, Lahore was the biggest city and Karachi was a small port town, however, by declaring Karachi as the capital of Pakistan; How much revenue was spent to make it a bigger port, industrial, business, educational, residential and commercial city of Pakistan?

Punjab not only sacrificed financially, but Punjabi’s took the major intellectual, physical, economic and financial participation to make the port city Karachi an economic and financial hub of Pakistan, but from 1986 Muhajir's started to force the Punjabi’s with fascistic and terrorist activities to leave Karachi. The majority of well-established Punjabi industrialists and traders considered it feasible to migrate Abroad or Back to Punjab.

Remaining Punjabi’s in Karachi are stuck people due to many reasons, they were not able to migrate, anyhow, they are living in Karachi with low profile social and business lifestyle with fear and harassment.

Hence, neither Rural Sindh nor Karachi is feasible for a future time or talent investment of educated, skilled and rich Punjabi’s. Because a head full of fears has no space for dreams. Therefore, instead of living in Rural Sindh and Karachi with low profile social and business lifestyle with fear and harassment, Punjabis are required to shift back in Punjab to devote their time, use their talent, practice their skills and invest their economy to build up Punjab only.

Punjab has all the types of facilities, opportunities, and resources to provide survival for all the Punjabi’s as a great country of a martial race and honorable nation, therefore, unnecessary attention to Sindhi’s in Rural Sindh and Muhajir’s in Karachi along with economic or skill or intellectual investment in Rural Sindh or Karachi is not suitable for Punjabi’s.
